their politicians know it. It was public outrage that influenced
recalcitrant members of Congress to finally support the Violence Against Women Act
last February, and to prompt Larry Summers to remove his name as a candidate
for the next Chairman of the Federal Reserve. Janet Yellen was nominated
instead.
